Improvement of Operational Efficiencies. Provided leadership for all functions within a 255,000 sq.ft. distribution center. Interfaced with such corporate departments as store operations, finance, sales, and marketing. Directed the activities for all departments including domestic logistics and Canadian distribution.
Results:
Introduction of New Technology. Directed the installation of automation to the pick & pack operations of a $600M specialty retailer that caused its throughput to outpace its replenishment system. This created a no-fill rate of 30%. Drafted a solution utilizing RF Barcode technology and elicited support from IT for installation. The new system provided more accurate tracking; it improved department’s ability to locate the correct quantity required to support the new pick & pack operation.
Results:
Capital Asset Optimization. Company was on a double-digit growth track and needed to determine the maximum operational efficiency of current distribution center before opening a second one. Identified ways to retain current facility, maintain high level of operational efficiency, and contribute to the ongoing corporate growth and development.

Product Cycle Enhancement. Introduced new efficiency models into the product cycle time and delivery schedule. Directed the Receiving staff in their efforts to reduce the time inbound product sat on the dock to one day. Implemented a new tracking system to monitor operational productivity and to record start & stop times related to product retransfer from dock to pick.
Results:
Successful Negotiations. Spearheaded company’s effort to install an outbound box-sorter to distribution center. Conducted a feasibility study that determined budget allocation of $250K was $100K short of the original quotes. Identified critical functional requirements, separating out wants from needs and negotiated costs with suppliers.
